Clearly Chosen as a domain and site has had a long history with me, but never with as clear a purpose as it has now – January 2012. At this time, I have re-purposed Clearly Chosen to what I believe is more closely aligned to what its original purpose was meant to be. (To me Clearly Chosen is like an idea or a live entity – it will evolve and grow over time.)
Even when the name Clearly Chosen first popped into my head, I had a sense that it had many significant meanings – not just for me, but for others as well. And even when I chose originally to use it for other purposes (i.e. Clearly Chosen’s Swarovski Store and Clearly Chosen’s Swarovski Library), I always had (but mostly ignored) a knowing at the back of my head that Clearly Chosen was not quite living out its true purpose as to why that name came to me and what it signified.
In January 2012, I took stock of my activities (they were getting too many, too scattered, too fractured to manage with clarity) which led to a clearer re-purposing of what Clearly Chosen is meant to give.
Current Environment – Too Much, Too Many
We live in a truly privileged age where our choices, options, and information abounds in an almost never ending array. Which is all good. Except that many people (me included) are overwhelmed by “too much, too many”. We know that there are lots of great products, software, articles, artists, time-saving devices out there – but more and more, it is overwhelming and it feels like we have less and less time to know all the things we “should” know that might help us (personally) or our business.
We are like a child – dizzy, spinning, and undecided – in too large a candy store.
What can Clearly Chosen do to Help?
This is the question I asked myself in this current situation: What can I do to help?
And I have chosen Clearly Chosen (or Clearly Chosen has clearly chosen itself) as the vehicle whereby I hope it will be of some service to others and to help bring more clarity to our lives.
What most of us need right now is not more information, more products, more choices, more must-haves. What most people feel they need right now (apart from the ever ubiquitous money of course) is to have more clarity, calm, and Time,… and RESULTS. But that seems like a hard thing to do when there is so much one has to look at, learn, read, see .. on the touted promise that each and every one of them might be beneficial or needful to our lives and/or businesses.
I spend an inordinate amount of time trawling the net in search of various kinds of answers. And in the process, I often come across lots of great information and items. And also lots of time-consuming but not useful items and information. And I often feel frustrated that it takes me hours to get some kernels of real great offerings. And what a shame it is that I cannot share with others what (I think) is really good and in so doing, save them a whole lot of overwhelm, wasted time, and effort.
Herein lies the Mission of Clearly Chosen at this time. With Clearly Chosen, I hope to offer some Clarity and Time Saving, and real Results. Clearly Chosen will only promote, recommend, point to articles, information, people, artists, art works, (and whatever else I come across that seems to be highly entertaining, useful, etc.) In so doing, I hope that Clearly Chosen highlighted articles, people, artists, information will save YOU time and effort in this age where there is a dearth of time and an overload of data.
Caveat: Obviously Clearly Chosen will not be able to have the answers to all things but of the things I do come across (usually after hours of searching, reading) they will save you effort and time as I will have culled most of the time-consuming and less than useful results of searches which you might otherwise have had to undertake.

Clearly Chosen is also a “child” of shCREDO (pronounced s.h. Credo) which is the parent site in that it is my original and over-riding site of interest and which states my deepest beliefs and purpose.
